What if the protagonist was Charlize Theron?

I'm not sure how that would work out since I haven't read the book and know nothing about it.  (I do know that I like Charlize Theron.)

I can not believe how I'm dragging my butt on these books! it's  not like they are bad and not holding my attention, just..I don't know not in the reading mood.(again!)

The King of Attolia 

This is the third book in the series. the first book was a slow read for me , but the second book I flew through and enjoyed a lot. This book is bringing in a new character and I'm not sure what to make of him so far. Also I'm not sure what Eugenides up to either.

I'm on page 44.

Deceptions: A Cainsville novel

Also a third book in a series.

 I'm on page 25 of this one, so not to far at all. I think I may fly through this one if I just give it more of my attention. I really love the character Gabriel.

*side note - I hate this red cover on this HB copy. It makes it feel like those Contemporary Romance/Suspense books. (not that there is anything wrong with those, but it just isn't this type of story)

Amusing Ourselves to Death 

Reading this one to see if I want to add it to my son's reading list for school. I'm not that far in to it , but it so far it's interesting.

*shit, I just saw some of the ratings on this one and honestly, not looking forward to reading another book that got bunches of 2 stars for a rating.  Who's picking out these bad books?!

So my three day sinus headache is finally gone! Hallelujah! 

This time I had vertigo with it which sucks, but it is kinda funny to have your kids watch your eyes as you open them so they can se them moving to the side (involuntarily).

 Hopefully I'll finish up Age of Miracles tonight and have a post about it tomorrow.

I did see a new trailer for the movie The Program which is based on David Walsh's book Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong.

Have you ever looked at a book cover and not really see the whole "picture".

I just did that, as I'm typing up this post.

You see I have the hardback copy and it has a really old cover. See look at it. Who in the world would pick this book by it's cover? 

i just noticed the shadow of the hand. I feel stupid. In my defense, this copy is really old and the background is just as dark as the shadow ,so everything kinda blended in together.

I know a lot of people loved this series, so I'm hoping my excitement level will go up with the next book.

I felt like this one was just okay for me. Part of my problem is that I compared it a little bit with Finnikin Of The Rock by Melina Marchetta. I wasn't purposely doing it, but my mind immediately started thinking about that trilogy and how much I loved it and then the comparing started. (I need to say that I thought Froi of The Exiles was the best book in that trilogy, one of my favorites!)

I'm not saying I hated this book. I think "Gen" is an interesting character and look forward to reading the next book. I just wish it was as great as I thought it was going to be.

I really enjoyed the stories Gen and Magus told.

Honestly, I do read books. In fact, I just finished Megan Whalen Turner's The Thief.

 But I needed to talk about Orphan Black.  I loved season 3! Every time I think they've painted themselves in to a corner they have something up their sleeve.

Well, all of it except "pupok". What the hell was that all about?!

This season's big draw for me:

Ari Millen as RUDY!

There is just something about him

Look at that smile!!

Other things I loved:

Felix - the episode where he dropped his accent, I loved it!

Ferdinand - he's one of those crazy people you really want on your side.

Things that I'm sad about:

Another thought...I dislike Shay, a lot.

I loved her as Kenzi on Lost Girl. But really I'm not feeling any chemistry between her and Cosima.

How can there be people out there that still aren't watching this show!!

I never played a male character. I think it's funny when I hear about woman that play male characters so they get picked for raiding and such.  I know plenty of guys that would play female characters...just because they thought they were sexy lol.

I've never even heard of this book. And from looking at the ratings on here and over at GR I see it's not that popular. But it got a movie!

I had a tough time with this one. I almost put it down and said "F*ck it"

Here's my problem with it.

"I gots no job."

"Don' hardly"

"waz'at?"

"eh, Li'l brah?"

 

now imagine every character talking like this.

it gets on your nerves real fast.

So why did I keep reading....I think the story plot in the first section wrapped up nice so I continued to the second story.

(Which did not play out the way I thought it was going to.)

 

I am on to the second book. this one will tell me if it's worth my time to read any more.

 

While I was watching the trailer for the new movie The Final Girls (which I plan on seeing because Alexander Ludwig's in it) and came across the trailer for the movie The Dressmaker. It's a movie based on Rosalie Ham's book by the same name.

I liked this 2nd volume more than the first. Probably because it expanded beyond Forever and let us see some of how the "waste" live. it also gave us some back history on Forever and how she's struggling with the message that her family is not her family and that is not her father. She keeps looking back at when she was little and her interaction with her trainer and her "father".

 I wasn't able to get the 2nd volume I had to actually take out Lazarus The First Collection. Which is Volume One & Two together. So I got to see all the neat maps and the history of the Families that are in the back of that collection. it really adds to the story line.
