Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Red Rising - Pierce Brown

If this is on your TBR pile , then you probably already know a lot of people are comparing it to The Hunger Games. At first this was off putting because I liked the Hunger Games and I hate when things are too much a like.

BUT, even though this has groups killing off other groups, it brought something new, had me reading way past my bed time!

Here's some things you should know:

First - The age of Darrow & Eo. It kept bothering me. No seriously, that was bothering the crap out of me.

Second - If you've ever seen the movie SlingBlade

(you know the one with Billy Bob Thornton in it)

you will hear this in the back of your mind

at least once while your reading the book.

Okay on to the serious stuff. This story is addictive. I felt like I was placed down into the story and I was part of Darrow's House.  I don't want to say I'm a violent person, but Good Lord, at times I wanted to stand up and shout "Kill them , Kill them all!"

Don't let the Sci-Fi label scare you away from this.

This is like Spartacus on Sci-Fi crack!

"My heart thuds in my chest. So much pain. I had thought it would be over, but not all scars heal. Not all sins are forgiven."

Really Enjoyed it and can NOT wait for the next book. Which sadly is not until 2015, what the heck?!
