I have a hard time getting into the novels told in verse, but I didn't with this one. (this one might be called free verse)
Yeomans keeps the verse short, but it it doesn't mean it lacks on telling the story with detail.
"Numb was a dear, sweet friend,
a warm soft bed,
a place to rest
the last of me."
"What if I lose the dirty details, the messy
the incredible sound of his voice?"
"Energized by tears,
exhausted by laughter,
we hug, we hold, we hope."
